A little about the club.....

The club welcomes anyone who wants to train/compete in only one discipline just as much as all three and maybe even more. Local triathletes started VTC as a way to encourage an outdoor, healthy lifestyle. The group organizes events such as bike rides and runs, encourages friendships, supports athletes competing at races, offers discounts on races and services, and provides access to trusted, professional fitness experts.

Good morning VTC!

I wanted to announce a project I am putting together.

LIMITLESS, The Valley 2 Valley 300 mile run is about MINDSET and BELIEF!

Planning the Valley-to-Valley Run is to prove to people that “impossible” is realistic; that living with the “I can” mindset will optimize your life; that life is limitless; it’s about breaking down self-made barriers that we put on ourselves. Is your goal to get off the couch and start exercising a few times a week, maybe it’s to complete a triathlon, maybe its to improve a relationship; maybe its to lose weight, maybe it’s to run 100 miles; what are the roadblocks standing in your way? And how will you manage tough times, getting through the roadblocks, and continue moving towards your destination.

When you decide to embark on any goal, pessimistic thoughts will not support your objective. It’s a must to stop this way of thinking! You must work on trying to eliminate the negative thoughts that enter the head on a daily basis. Conditioning the mind to do this takes work. The first step is to believe in yourself and to always put positive thoughts into your head. This will be my platform and mission throughout the journey. I want to spread this message to the masses to inspire others to go after their goals and create the “I CAN MINDSET”.

This epic adventure will start in Visalia and take my team to the Santa Monica Pier. A 300+ mile adventure run that will challenge the body, the mind, the emotion and the determination throughout this journey.

My goal is to complete this in 4 days which equates to 75 miles per day of running (close to 3 marathons a day for 4 days!)

We will post updates and information at our website here: http://livecfalife.com/limitless

I hope to get the support of the VTC members throughout this journey.

Great morning VTC!

Check out this video of Lance Armstrong competing in his first ever Half Ironman:

I think it is pretty amazing that he has, not only the extreme athletic ability, but the determination and desire to become a high level triathlete. It teaches us all a lesson that with those two “D” words, determination and desire, so much is possible. Yes, Lance is genetically gifted, yes he has a great team around him, but without determination and desire, he does not become the best cyclist of all time and definitely does not change gears and become an elite triathlete at 41 years of age. His mindset allows him to achieve these goals. The thing to learn from this story is that we can have that determination and desire to become our best. We have the capability to create this mindset to succeed. We will not be Lance Armstrong, but will be our BEST! When we strive to become better, whether it is in triathlon or another aspect of our life, we give more to others and develop a positive vibe to others.

I am going to add one more “D” word and that is DISCIPLINE. Because without discipline we can’t wake up early to workout, or eat the right foods, or push that last interval. Discipline allows us to stay on path, no matter how tough and challenging a goal could be. So let’s learn from Lance. Let’s be inspired by what he is doing. He is out there competing in our sport! Training just like us and enjoying it just like us. Pretty cool...
